On March 18, 2026, OSHA announced the launch of its OSHA Cares initiative. This is an agencywide effort focused on helping businesses meet federal workplace safety requirements while building strong, successful safety and health programs that benefit employers and workers.
OSHA Cares highlights the ways OSHA can support employers and provide guidance to ensure all workers arrive home safely after every shift. OSHA states it is encouraging businesses to seek assistance or guidance to improve safety and health at their worksite.
The OSHA Cares initiative emphasizes prevention and collaboration and is intended to make the agency more approachable for employers seeking help with workplace safety and health issues.
According to OSHA, the OSHA Cares initiative aims to help employers, particularly small and medium-sized businesses that face unique safety and health challenges, improve workplace safety by increasing access to OSHA experts and compliance assistance specialists, improving access to educational and training materials, and offering more consistent workplace assistance during enforcement visits and meetings.
OSHA also recently unveiled an updated workplace poster that employers are required to display, featuring a modern design and messaging intended to bring employers and workers together to address safety hazards and concerns.
In addition, OSHA’s Directorate of Enforcement Programs is launching a training program to standardize how compliance safety and health officers provide real-time assistance during inspections and enforcement activities.
Employers should review their current safety and health programs, confirm that required postings and key compliance obligations are up to date, and take advantage of OSHA’s compliance assistance, training materials and expert guidance to address gaps. The initiative gives employers an opportunity to strengthen safety programs, reduce risk and demonstrate good-faith efforts toward compliance while building a more collaborative relationship with OSHA.
